I have noticed it takes my CPU to 100 if its scanning SSD files. Keep in mind that the scan percentage is not equally proportional with the time elapsed. CPU usage should only be high if its scanning a SSD. First, despite Total Security being the premier product for consumers that Bitdefender sells, it does not include a full VPN. A System scan can take a long time to complete if the computer has never been scanned before with Bitdefender, if the hard drive has a large capacity, if there are many files on it and especially if there are over-compressed archives on it. This is one option that we do not recommend for a few reasons. There should have been a "Scan history" label under "Virus & threat protection" in settings, but I can't seem to find this label. Perhaps one of the more disappointing features included with Bitdefender Total Security is the VPN service. I did an offline scan with Windows Defender and can't seem to find the scan results.
